Beamish, the North of England Open Air Museum, is a living museum, located in Beamish, near the town of Stanley, County Durham, England. The museum was create to preserve an example of everyday life in urban and rural North East England. Beamish Museum is a great place for you and your children to have a feel of what life was like in the early 20th Century. You can go to school as an early 20th Century student, you can spend your pocket money in the old fashioned sweet shop, and you can see a huge collection of artifacts, working vehicles and equipment, as well as livestock and costumed interpreters, to make the experience feel very real.
