Corbridge is a small village in Northumberland between Hexham and Newcastle. The village is a beautiful place and is home to many quaint boutique shops, cafes and a well known pub.
Corbridge grew from the Roman town of Corstopitum a supply town for the troops on Hadrian’s Wall. The bridge there is the oldest of the mediaeval bridges which was replaced in 1674 after being derelict in the 16th century.
Corbridge is a great place for a family day out, with pleanty of places to go and things to do. If you explore further and walk alongside the river, you will find a patch of sand which is a perfect place to spend your summer days, a great place for the dog to cool off!
